Supported from Casambi firmware version 44.0
Overview
The primary intention of the key card switch is to act as a master switch for the lighting in hotel rooms. Room lighting cannot be controlled until a key card is inserted, and lights go off and become unresponsive once the card is removed.
Note that the scenes you wish to be triggered from the key card must have been created before you start configuration. Key cards can however be “paired” to your network before commencing configuration.
Pairing and visual appearance in the app
- Pair the key card switch to your Casambi network using NFC in the same way as a standard EnOcean PTM215B or PTM216B switch. See instructions here.
- Under Select model, choose the desired key card faceplate.
- Option A is the normal version.
- Option B is for special applications and uses a PTM535BZ version with 4 buttons.
Configuration
- Set the desired operation in the CARD ACTIONS section to be Controls Priority
- By default there are 2 “Not in use” settings for ⏬ and ⏫.
- Only the ⏬ option requires configuration for a normal key card switch. The ⏫ setting does not need to be configured for normal key cards because both the insert and removal actions and their priorities can be defined in the ⏬ setting
- Select ⏬ and change the selection to Controls priority. You will then see the configuration options.
- Select the “Active state” scene that you wish to trigger when the keycard is inserted
- Define its “Activation priority” in the Control hierarchy.
- Normally this would remain as the default “Manual control”.
- Select the “Inactive state” scene that you wish to trigger when the keycard is removed
- Define its “Deactivation priority” in the Control hierarchy.
- Normally this would be set to “Higher than manual” because you do not want the inactive scene to be possible to override by still using other switches in the room.
For a hotel key card application, inactive state and priority is not required but is used in applications other than key cards.
