The Casambi app enables users to access and monitor a range of DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) data when integrated with compatible devices and configurations. This integration facilitates enhanced lighting control, energy monitoring, and system diagnostics.
Available DALI Data in the Casambi App
When using the Casambi app in conjunction with supported DALI devices and gateways, the following data types can be accessed:
1. Device Identification and Status
- Device Information: View details such as device type, serial number, and firmware version.
- Operational Status: Monitor the current state of each device, including on/off status and dimming levels.
2. Energy Consumption Metrics (D4i drivers)
- Real-Time Power Usage: Track the instantaneous power consumption of connected luminaires.
Cumulative Energy Data: Access historical energy usage statistics for performance analysis and reporting.
D4i (DT50/51/52) or “lumDATA” features of DALI devices are indicated once detected and updated when address details are opened.
The same data is collected and updated periodically also by Casambi Gateways for export to backend and API clients.
3. Sensor Data
- Environmental Sensors: Retrieve data from integrated sensors, such as ambient light levels or occupancy status, depending on device capabilities.
4. Emergency Lighting Status
- Battery and Lamp Status: For DALI emergency devices (DT1), monitor battery charge levels and lamp functionality.
- Test Results: Access results from automatic or manual emergency function tests.
Last test results are not shown in the details – extra data can be

Accessing DALI Data via the Casambi App
To access DALI data within the Casambi app:
- Ensure Compatibility: Use Casambi-compatible DALI devices or gateways, such as the Salvador Series, CBU-ASD or CBU-DCS modules.
- Network Configuration: Integrate DALI devices and drivers into your Casambi network following standard pairing procedures.
- Data Retrieval: Navigate to the specific Casambi device properties (double-tap on unit) within the Casambi app to view available data. The extent of accessible data depends on the driver’s capabilities and the network configuration.
